Doctor's Apt

We went to the doctor yesterday and got the glucose test. The drink wasn't as bad as everyone says it is. Just tasted like sugary fruit punch. The test was not good. It should be under 139 and mine is 155. So for the weekend I have to cut out sugar and carbs. Then Sunday night I have to fast from 10 o'clock pm till Monday afternoon. Monday at 8:30 I go in and they draw my blood 4 times, once every hour. So I don't know what to eat now and I am going to go crazy since I have to have dessert like after every meal, even breakfast. But, everything else was normal. I have gained 4 lbs. since the last appointment. The baby is growing well, good strong 140 heartbeat. And we went over our birth plan and I am excited that the doctor was ok with everything, even going natural and no episiotomy.

So sorry to hear that...I was 1 point over and they made me do the fast and blood every 30 min...I had to do it like 3 different days because I keep throwing up but if you like the drink you probably won't have that problem. You know my favorite dessert is sugar free fatfree pudding or jello with whip free cool whip. Just a good alternative for now hope that helps.

Hey Alisha
Don't know if you remember me from High School. Malinda Pickup? Well, I found your blog and love to hear all that is going on with you. Congrats on the baby. You look very cute. I don't think that you look big at all. I was HUGE!!! I will have to post a picture sometime. I can't wait to see more pictures of you and your baby!

So what does that mean? Does that mean you have the diabetes, I'm willfred Brimley and I have the diabetes. Do you really have desert after every meal?

That really stinks! I was so afraid to get the results of that test this time around since they thought I might have had gestational diabetes with Ben and didn't catch it. I would die without my sugar too. What did you eat the day of the test aside from the drink? One time Jeni ate some M&Ms before her test and that messed up the results and she had to do what you're going to do. Anyway, hope you don't have GD and you can still have your daily desserts!

Thanks Rhonda! Malinda-what is your blog? Zach-It means that the insulin in my body is off wack somehow. I think it just means I eat too many sweets and if I keep it up, I gona have a huge baby. And that will not be good for someone going natural. Brianne- I had captain crunch for breakfast. Maybe this next test will tell me I dont have GB, but that I need to cut back on my sugar, which I already know I do.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you don't have a problem getting your blood taken! You should ask the dr. if you have good sized birthing hips. I say that because a girl in our ward just had an 11 1/2 pound baby ALL NATURAL. Yes that's a 2 month old! She was huge and they thought it was all fluid until her water broke and not that much water came out. But even years ago at her first OB appt. ever the dr. told her she could deliver a 14lb. baby. But it's been her best recovery yet,(3rd baby)and she didn't have GD. Good luck and I still need to come and see you! I've started a new eating program. I'll call you with some hints.
