Story Time

Ok, I'm finally sitting down to write down the labor and delivery story. It is long and detailed so if you decide to read it, sorry, but this blog is kind of a journal for me now. I guess for a couple of weeks now I have had some kind of contractions. Wednesday the 8th I lost my mucus plug, so I figured she was coming soon. Saturday I went on a walk and the whole time my stomach was tight. After a long time Elliott got his big, I mean HUGE, flat screen t.v. So we had Chase and his girlfriend come over and watched Yes Man. About 11:50 I started to have tightening in my stomach with some, what I thought was gas pains. So I figured for kicks I would time them for an hour. And they were pretty regular, they were 4 mins apart for about 1 min long. When the movie was over I went upstairs to read when I should call the doctor. I sat down on my bed to read then got up, and a huge gush of water came out. I yelled for Elliott and told him it was time. So he frantically was cleaning up and getting our bags ready. I straightened my hair and called the doctor and then called my parents. It was about 1:20am when this happened. The contractions were getting stronger so I knew we had to hurry. When my parents got here Elliott was still trying to get things ready and I went out to the car but didn't make it, I had to get on my hands and knees to get through a contraction. The car trip to the hospital was like 5 mins but felt like forever, it seemed like Elliott was going so slow. My contractions were 2 mins apart by this time. We got to the hospital and I was walking fast, made it to the door but had to get on my hands and knees to get through another contraction. Elliott told me to get up that we had to go. I was crawling through the door. We had to sit down and make sure the paperwork was done. I again had to get to the floor and this time I felt like I had to push. The nurse said to hold on and she wheeled me upstairs. We checked in at 2:09 and I was in a gown and the nurse checked me and I was at a 10 with a +2. They called the doctor to make sure he was coming. Each contraction I felt like I had to push, but the nurse said to hold it and breath through it till the doctor got here. He got there in like 10 mins and got all ready and I pushed 4 times. The last 2 pushes burned so bad. She was out at 2:28am. The cord was wrapped around her neck twice and she had fluid in her lungs. The doctor delivered the placenta and then stitched me up. He was sewing for what seemed like forever. I am so glad it was a quick delivery. This was tons better then my first!
This is us going home. Why does it take them hours to discharge us???
Cole loves to give her kisses. He is trying to be helpful and gentle, but its so hard.

Another intresting week!

This is what happens when I leave Elliott with Cole while I'm at a Pampered Chef party! His first wings, what a mess!
Cole found some glasses and wanted to wear them and the hat. Too funny!

This week many of our expensive things broke so we had to get new ones. Our water heater was leaking so we replaced that, luckily still under warranty. Our oven started beeping at us and wouldn't stop. Elliott figured out we needed a new part that was expensive to get, so we decided to get a new one. Then he broke the lawn mower and that part was expensive too , so we just got a new one. Cole wanted to help his dad mow. He is such a good helper.

All this week I was getting ready for a garage sale. Thanks to my mom and dad for helping, I don't know what I would have done without them. Friday we did pretty good, and Saturday was slow, but after I put everything away I was so hot and exhausted. So Cole and I played in the sprinklers. I'm 39 weeks now and still no baby. I go to the doctor tomorrow and we will see what he says.

Firestation

I didn't think about bringing my camera to the fire station for playgroup so I took this picture from Laura's blog. Cole really enjoyed the fire station a couple of weeks ago, he was the only one who gave the scary fireman a five when he was in his suit and mask. It was a great experience, I even learned a lot. They sent each kid home with a fireman hat, coloring safety books and some candy.

What an intresting week?!

I am 37 weeks now, so only 3 weeks left. It has gone by so fast. I'm still feeling great and she is still moving around. I'm starting to swell up, which I didn't with Cole, so its a yucky feeling.
Cole is already in love with his sister. I'm trying to get him used to having her around and calling her by her name. He has said Izzy a couple of times.

One of the great things about owning a home is that I get to garden. My neighbor came over to help. We had a huge mound of dirt in the backyard with a hole next to it where the old tenants were going to put an above ground pool, so I transfered the dirt over to cover the hole. Where the mound was I made a garden. So Ruth came over and helped me plant tomatoes to watermelon. So we will see how that goes. One time while I was moving the dirt around it was really muddy and Cole had to play in it.

So let me tell you about an eventful past week I have had. First of all last Thursday I had a Pampered Chef party and burnt my arm getting the cake out. Then Friday as I was cleaning I forgot the tub was wet, I climbed inside and my right foot totally slipped. Luckily I caught myself, bad thing was I had to lay down for the rest of the day because it felt like I pulled my groin. Then Sunday during sacrament Cole kept running to the front and one of the times as I went to get him, I ran to grab his shirt and my ankle gave out and totally fell. IN A SKIRT, IN FRONT OF A LOT OF PEOPLE! It was a hard fall, my ankle hurt really bad and I skinned up my leg. So I sat through the rest of church just bawling. Cole still went up to the front, but luckily this sweet sister grabbed him and let him sit with them for awhile. I'm so grateful for Sister Empey! Needless to say I went home after sacrament and iced my foot the whole day. It is still sore. Then Thursday my mom, Natasha, Cole, and I went up to Tulsa to visit Zach and his family. An hour away from Tulsa we switched drivers and I drove. It was raining and the roads were wet. I hit a slick spot and swerved, lost control, and we started to swerve to the median and I tried to control the wheel and put pressure on the brake. We ended up doing a 180 on the other side of the highway facing south, when we started driving north. It was extremely scary. Heavenly Father was truly watching over us. We were blessed no other cars were around on either side of the highway. When we stopped and got out of the way of traffic we said a prayer and made sure nothing was wrong with the tires because we thought we blew a tire, but didn't. But the rest of the day was great! We ate a wonderful lunch (which my mouth is watering just thinking about it), we went shopping and watched the boys play. My nephews are just so cute!

It's a GIRL!

I went to the doctor and got a sonogram and its official, ITS A GIRL! She weights 4 lbs right now. And I dont have to go on a diet with this one! I'm excited about that.
Here I am at 31 1/2 weeks.

Cole eats, sleeps and breaths the scooter. He loves ridding on it with Elliott. When he wakes up he moves his arms like he is ridding a motorcycle.
Cole went to nursery for the first time 2 weeks ago and loved it. Of course he got sick because of the sick kids.

I cut his hair so he doesn't have as many curls now. He put my shoes on yesterday and it was just so funny!
